This EP throws the radio smacker ‘Sugar Fix‘ all the light it deserves and Phil Martin has reworked a juicy edit of ‘110%‘ from their second album. In short, this EP brings you a dolly mixture of fantastic new tunes, each one different and equally tasty! Continue reading
As their second album Sugar Fix arrives on the doorstep of the worlds’ music stores, Laura Vane and The Vipertones have already started down the addictively sticky road of soul and funk, now to lightly dust their creations generously with pop! With undeniably catchy radio songs such as the surf-chic ‘Capsize’ and sing-along title track ‘Sugar Fix’, this album is a collection of music which unashamedly flaunts what the Dutch/English alliance are capable of. Laying down a rich variety of styles, they are flirting with traditional soul and funk grooves and adding a contemporary twist. This record is a feast for the listener. Laura Vane & The Vipertones are keeping it in the family, both musically and literally, with the ‘Roof Off EP’. Firstly a splendidly deep bumpy house rework of ‘Mean Lover’ byPart Time Heroes which sees the lads taking the shaking-fist-at-lover power soul epic and giving it a suave twist for the discos. Chasing a similar dancefloor vibe in his trademark home-made-cheap-as-chips broken style, Diesler remixes ‘Roof Off’. Completing the EP is an extended edit of ‘Roof Off’ which is lovingly chopped up and carefully glued back together by none other than Phil Martin. Release August 21st
